Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Change in the culture

Whole food spends thousands of $ on TM teaching them everything WF culture and on the paper it is really beautiful and probably one of the best company to work for.Several years ago they start hiring outsiders from other chains like Wallmart Albertson cash and carry etcand making them directly store leader or astl s these people had no idea about WF culture and they did,not care much ,but they are in command they bring the other stores culture and little by little WF is no longer is the same nor is a little Wallmart it is loosing its identity. Now we are cutting the small part of WF experienced and trained out and keeping all the fat rats that they come from another sinking ship.Wake up WF global leadership

This is true, the longer you work there, the more that they resent you. They don't care how hard that you have worked, and the sacrifices that you have made.

This is the only company that I have ever worked for that genuinely holds your experience against you.

You are so right. Where is the true mentorship? At least here in the SW they have no one that they even trust at the store level (stl, astl or tl ) to train anyone. Knee-jerk reaction was to hold atl trainings for all, regardless of team, every 6 months. How dies that help? 3 full shifts wasted because the team leaders weren't doing the job. Rotating atls? What sense does that make?

Hire good people with standards from with-in, it's obvious, or water it down and scratch your heads.
