Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

When the going gets tough...

You know how it ends. This is true for everyone whether you stay or go. All you have to ask yourself is how long are you going to feel sorry for yourself and cry about it until you get going again.

Life goes on and the world does not revolve around us.

They may not tell you this, but if you sign up for retiree insurance, you can get EAP for a couple $ / mo. I believe through the end of the year.

Generally, it’s better to let things out than hold them in. And doing so feels almost akin to problem-solving—in the moment, at least. Venting your frustrations alleviates tension and stress. You almost always feel better—and “lighter”—after sharing some perceived threat, indignity, misfortune, or injustice. Not better option than to vent via an anonymous free web site. The therapist is $150 an hour.

Pretty unkind, 175677. People have lost their method of paying their bills and their sense of purpose. Life will go on, but feeling sorry and angry right now is just what they need to do. They don't need jerks making stupid comments.
