Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Namas'cray

Apparently, my time to vent is now. I once believed in this company and I believed that they stood behind their core values. I've seen things deteriorating for a while and now after the things I have witnessed in the past few weeks I barely like you WFM. The shady corner-cutting changes that WFM has been implementing gradually with persistence proves that it no longer wishes to go above and beyond. It wants to stand next to everyone else. Mediocrity. Fine. If that's what you want WFM then alright, but at least have the decency to tell us what's up your sneaky sleeve. You should have told that TM that before he interviews for the buyer position, that you plan to eleminate that very position in two months and that you will offer him another job with lower pay and less hours. And what else are you planning? You know that crap you buy from some factory.... the stuff that the prepared foods department begrudgingly takes from the freezer and puts into a container and sells it for a ridiculous amount of money? The same crap that one of our competitors sells in their deli? Guess you wanna be like them too. Mediocre. Do us a favor and tell the TMs who used to make that stuff from SCRATCH with PRIDE that soon, you will not be needing them anymore. About marketing. Do you think that just because you can't see on a piece of paper how much money they make you, they are making you zilch? Bitch, please. Cutting graphic artists, and healthy eating specialists? I'm not sure what's up your sleeve there and it really makes no sense to us. My guess is that you are missing the human element here all together. It's restructuring you say. Yeah, that's a positive term for "oh shit, we gotta do something now because we didn't do something sooner." WFM, you have crippled every single damn department and we fear you will strike again soon- only after we bust our asses for you for the holidays. We promise to deliver you the best mediocrity on the market. You get what you pay for.

You said it all! As one of the ones who drank the kool-aid for 10 years, I want to thank you for saying it like it is. It's just so hard to believe....

Oh the things I have seen.......

I've seen a guy who got promoted to grocery ATL and the only reason is because he was friends with the department team leader. This guy was an idiot, could barely speak english.

Wow, that's deep and powerful. I would have to agree with you and many other TMs across the country. It saddens me to see a once great and impactful company join the rest of the corporations that feed off greed and power. RIP our Core Values and everything inbetween. Thank you for expressing what many of us could not put into words OP.

Excellent post. WFM, it had been an honor working with you. No longer. You've lost your integrity and sense of true purpose. Is the money really worth the cost of your soul?
