For all those that has spent considerable years at Chevron and are about to be layed off. I just want to say a few words. There really is no loyalty in any company. Oh yes , it sounds great when uppermanagemnt says your valuable and you part of the team. However when tough times come and revenue falls you become a liability in the companys bottom line. Oh, im sure someone on this thread will say thats not true. Chevron values its employees, well to that you just haven't been tested in this area yet. You will become jaded and cinical because you will realize there really isn't any loyalty in a company. Good luck and God Bless.

"YOUR" just a number???? Good Grief. And you wonder why you were cut?
Yeah, you got yours! I've got mine! That's what it is all about. Who cares about exaggerated, fluffy progress reports on Angola, Gorgon and Big Foot. What are a few lives and billions of dollars lost due to "sloppy project management" including hiring fast-food workers to manage drill sites?
I only had 17 years but my bank accounts look pretty good too. I am very grateful for the years I had a Chevron. Business is business, fair or not.
Loyalty or not after 37 years I can show you a couple bank accounts that say they have been very good......I gave them 37 years they have given plenty back in return..... Really sorry that a lot of people won't reap that benefit.
At the end of the day all an employee is to Chevron or any other large corporation is a number on the payroll. There is no loyality and if you believe there is you are grossly mistaken.
Thanks for stating the obvious.
This is true with any company.
of course the employees are valuable. If they were not valuable, the company could not save money by letting them go...
