I'm glad they are no more samples,There are certain customers than come in there and eat the samples everyday and never buy anything.

at my store we had undercover loss prevention guys..they were catching tons of people drinking juices without paying..eating salad bar and ditching the plates in the aisle and other numerous under 20$ thievery..but the stl got embarrased by the amount of people and the ensuing confrontations at the register in front of the regular glamorous whole fool customers..the stl told the l.p.i guys he wasnt so worried about catching a soup thief but wine and vitamin shoplifters..i just wish the team members had such leeway to drink a free soda or cup of soup..try that on your shift and see where that gets you...

My store lets guests sample from hot bar, salad bar, cookie bar, bulk, soups, sometimes with their hands .Managers refuse to address these unsanitary practices.. They dont want to confront guests,. Germs galore! We lose a lot of product by guests helping themselves. We see it all day long, Managers just watch & ignore the theft. We have serial shoplifters who request ice for their stolen goods. TM's are not allowed to get involved, Also bad behavior is rewardwd with gift cards & free merchandise. Whole Foods doesn't back up TM's.

I knew some such customers when I was a bagger. Homeless folks too.
