Lets talk about favoritism!

This is what ruined the company. Team leaders hire their buddies and then promote them. Any good employees get pushed aside or give more work.

I've seen this again and again. Also incredibly racist. You can see the divide among the teams. I've seen team leaders who only hire and promote those from their own country. And this happens ALL THE TIME.

So true, a thousand times! The inly reason I am still with the company is the pay. I work in th sw region and if you are not a parent, friends, or brown nose upper leadership, you are treated as a second class citizen. targeted. Our astl is incredibly unprofessional and creepy.

They are desperate they are even now rehiring lazy people that called out all the time and where fired before there was a time when they did not have to rehire people that they new where slackers and lay outs! Sure, some people that deserved another chance where given a chance but they aren't doing that they are starting people at low wages and $11 an hour is not a living wage for part time or full time hours in the my state. So so so desperate hanging signs asking employees if we know anyone that would want to work there ? oh hell no I would NOT recommend this job to my worst enemy much less a good friend there are better jobs out there that pay you about the Same and even more without you working a jacked around schedule better benefits, and not trying to get you to do the work of more than one person I'd be as horrible as the uppers if I suggested this job to someone I cared about! I know what hard work is and what WF is doing is beyond the pale..... You either want to have knowledgeable workers that care or automatons that don't give a crap about the people that we should be taking care of our customers!!! Make no mistake this is what is doing this company in we have lost our heart to the greed of Wall Street if Mackey had any sense he'd take this company off the stock market and get back to the roots and get with the year 2016 technology wise! Workday what a waste we print out schedules and we can't even look at them on workday what is that a waste of not using a resource to its fullest potential and hire some real IT workers sure you might have to pay them well but guess what you get what you pay for hire culinary workers and pay them a little more for cut produce, salsas, and vegetables their production would be hirer! You want Walmart or do you want quality? Hire people that have skills and pay them well and you just might turn this mess around if it isn't to late? I think the uppers are old and just want their golden parachutes out!

This is true if you work hard at WF you are taken advantage of if you are not a brown nose or buddies with leadership this company is s---ing worse by the day! Work harder, less hours, sh--ty schedule that changes all the time while others keep their same schedules it's nepotism favoritism and by far the worst company for this that I have ever worked at!! Yes, I am on my way out screw them not going to do anymore holidays at this hell hole! I know retail so you kook aide drinkers are full of crap that enjoy being abused have fun being abused. I for one am done with it!! I love too work hard take pride in my work and love my customers and do a damn good job! I am an adult and have no problems at my other job, am appreciated, respected, payed well for my work and my work ethics and am very happy that I am soon to be out of the abusive hostile environment of WF! The uppers don't listen and this company is only going to get worse as they hemorage their best workers good workers are able to find other jobs BIG mistake WF!

We joke about one RP's cousins mysteriously getting a bunch of undeserved promotions and not just in his region. In this particular situation it was people from the African continent getting favored to the detriment of any US ethnicity. These so-called "leaders" pull strings to get their friends and extended family jobs all over the place in our company. There is a racial component to it but the bottom line is that unqualified people get these bulletproof jobs because of who they know or who they're related to and generally those are people of the same ethnic group. It manifests itself as discriminatory. In the Hunger Games atmosphere racial and gender diversity goes right out the window and suddenly you have people protecting their own kin. It's just an outgrowth of years of inside baseball and double-talk about inclusiveness and "opportunity." It's all a front. The advancement process is a total charade as hand-picked people advance or are magically installed in jobs for which they're totally unqualified. Then you find out that they attended grammar school in Ghana together or were college party buddies or go to the same church or whatever. They use the company as their personal piggy bank to hand out favors to their family and friends, or to protect them from layoffs.

I told my tms about D.H. and his blatant and verbal discrimination, and was told "you're not the first", and did jack shit about it. Maybe "minority " leaders should go though a additional training so they don't discriminate. Hey Hollie, F*** YOU BUDDY. Malcolm X wannabe bitch.

Favoritism and absolute shadiness is alive in the SP region! The highlight of this week is the head of TMS making sure her daughter got a metro PBS position by cutting out the higher paid, seasoned, respected and well liked PBSs. By the way, her daughter wasn't even a PBS, she was a PBP (processor), and according to the buzz in stores she wasn't liked nor respected. Also, the head didn't even bother to ask store leadership to be part of the interview panel. It was all regional TMS. Makes me sick.

It's really happening at our store also the supervision told my coworker as well as myself if I feel like you against me I'm getting rid of you point blank I'm knowing that's harrsment period and then when team leaders are notified nothing happens it sad actually....

Haha, point made OP. David Hollie (afro) hired a bunch of blacks during his tenure at Parkway. Scott Wilcox (white) hired a bunch of whites at Parkway. Edwin Aguilar (beaner) you guessed it! Hired a bunch of other beaners at Parkway. It's obvious at this location and culture of wholefoods. I've seen people get discriminated against during my 8 plus years at Parkway. I've seen certain races get passed up for promotions and team leader positions. For that reason alone is why this company has gone to shit. The wrong people leading the charge.

So true. I worked at Parkway long enough to find that fun fact out. I was held back and descriminated against for being white from the mentioned STL. Eye opening to the problems other races face every day. Also saw descriminaton of minorities in other locations ( plano big time) which made me sick especially after being a victim of it at parkway a few years ago. You would think this couldn't happen at whole foods but it does to all kinds of people because of the cliques. Straights, gays, women, men, black, white, latino, middle eastern, russian... I've seen all groups messed with by some leaders at sometime or another.
