Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Sad news out of the SW Region (Two Seperate TMs from TWO separate locations die.

SW-PLANO and SW-PARKWAY have lost 2 great TMs. I will be withholding their names for the privacy and wishes of their families. One was from an aneurysm in the shower and the other a murder of his wife and an apparent suicide. Both were very hard working and respected amongst their fellow team members that worked along side them. May you Rest in Peace.

It's sad why the fellow did this because he was laid off. Whole a Foods has no morals..

The Plano Tm I knew. He was a great person. To be clear his position hadn't been eliminated yet.

Much love to all the remaining TMs at both stores and all of the Dallas Metro affected by these events.

I would like to say, what if the TM had been a part of WF for such a long and after being laid off, found himself in a situation where he was unfamiliar with. Unfortunetely, not everyone thinks a like. I for one would would do my very best to find a new job/career and start over. But there are people out there that may feel like they are at a dead end and lost. So they do things like that to call it quits. We don't know the whole story and we may never know it, but losing a job is very stressful. A job is our lively hood. Speaking on WF in general, Full timers spend a lot of time contributing to this company. Living and breathing our Core values that we drilled into our heads and we took it because we believed in them with a passion. We build relationships not only with our fellow team members, but vendors/suppliers and our loyal customers. When we get blind sided and all that gets taken away in a flash, there is no way of knowing how to react to something like that. I feel for everyone involved. I feel for all the innocent team members that lost their jobs. I feel for the team members that stayed and working and keeping up with stuff that 3-4 TMs would normally do. Most importantly, I feel for our customers that are getting stuck in the cross fire and having to put up with all of the store level opportunities. The lack of product knowledge the shelf and the quality of service being given due to the lack of help. Before being a part of WF, I was a loyal shopper. I can't say that now. Thanks for listening.

Can't really feel bad for the murder-suicide, except the murder victim...
