Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

the 365 stores......feelings??

i think this was a hack idea pulled outta the board of directors ass when the may earnings tanked the stock..im not sure how these new stores will help the sales at the regular stores..and i really think it will just be a whole foods-without-the-expensive-wines-cheeses-meatdepts-seafoodcounters..just the lower cost items but at the same price point that the regular stores sell them for...and i do think these stores will have a much downsized management(leadership,in faux cooperative corporate speak)-no atl's,no buyers or supervisors, only tl's and maybe on stl...millenials like pbr and 365 tacquitos, who knew??

This gang is positively obsessed with Trader Joe's. There was an online course on how to compete with TJs (of course the unstated lesson was that WE had nothing to learn from those people...LOL) and there's a guy we employed who did nothing but visit TJs all over...24/7/365. Pun intended on the 365. Anyway, it's laughable to believe that a leadership team that has so monumentally screwed up its existing stores' growth, expansion, pricing policies and operations is capable of giving TJs even a millisecond of serious competition.

Let's compete with ourselves. That should work.

It's the worst idea in an endless stream of terrible ideas that this company has perpetuated on the employees and stock holders.

Mackey thinks that vegan diet and HSH are enough to prevent the need for insurance. A partially valid point, but what about genetic predisposition to cancer, mental illness, etc. This healthcare industry is messed up, and we need insurance.

for as much as mackey mc Robb talk about a healthy employee, they sure dont want you to have access to healthcare..they want to get rid of full time employees as much as possible to cut out the health benefits...

They are getting rid of team members and partnering with other companies who offer less compensation and benefits. They are basically turning into wal mart. That's the trend with 365.

I'm all for it. We ought to start ripping off other business models as well. I'm waiting for our answer to Amazon. We have potted plants in some places, maybe we can sell hardware too? And have a gas station. The possibilities are endless when you emulate instead of innovate!
