Yes, that's their plan... EVERYONE on Wall Street knows that the four-letter ordering system implemented region-by-region is 1980s technology so the company is bragging about how they have these big plans to implement a modern cloud-based global Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP)....Oh right, any day now. Well this is just an admission that they should have transitioned to this many years ago. When you delay and defer investments it makes your results look better....until the inevitable happens. Only one problem: As one other poster put it, look at the track record people! This is yet another hot mess waiting to happen. Our competitors have a deep bench of many decades of core tech talent that have kept up with changes all along. Saying it and actually IMPLEMENTING it are two entirely different things. This is all just more marketing (i.e., BS) from the executive team so they can cash out.

They said the new Irma replacement will be in affect FY17.... so, next Sept.
The "cloud-based" system wont be implemented for years. Whole Foods will be the "guinea pig" of sorts for this new system which means it will be bugged out for years to come. Connecting so many systems such as accounting, inventory, ordering, etc. is no easy task and must all work together or it does not work at all. WFM is more than a decade behind in this aspect and have waited too long to upgrade.

If you watched it they said this cloud system was years out. They will take forever with it.
If this new "cloud" technology works like all the other cool ideas WFM has launched in the past, it's going to suck badly. Look into all the screwed up past stuff the founders of this new tech partner company have been responsible for. Why does it have to be revolutionary, why not just do something that is industry standard that is tried and tested. Another hot mess...
Did anyone listen to the call today talking about "the new technology" replacing IRMA? Just wondering how soon this change is coming. Initially they said the buyer position would be eliminated in about 2 years but I think it'll be a lot sooner.
Can't wait for severance. I despise this company.
