Instead of your PSG, how about posting your age if you have been let go.

Anon180310: you are making conclusions which are just not true for all older employees at Chevron. I wish I was a, "55 year olds making $180k". I am 55, but not earning 180K per year. You are living in a dream world, if you stereotype all older people into a category that can afford to be laid off. You state, "Okay folks this is simple.", you sir, are simply a moron!
40 with a 2 year old mortgage and 1 year old son... On my team, the highest PSG could have opted out and got 1 year package but didn't... The lowest psg spot was taken by a new hire who wasn't hired for the group... Low blow Chevron... Shame on YOU

They layoff Old Folk who already made money, and had a nest egg. If you are under 30 and was laid off, most likely you were hated by your supervisor.
- My job was outsourced to India.
44 with 3 years at the company and 20+ in my area of work. The equivalent of my former position is still open, so obviously someone didn't want me or about four of my colleagues to remain (all of our boxes are still empty). This makes no sense. I felt like hanging up my 30-some R&As from 2015 on my office window before I left... someone must have liked my work, even if the new executive over the business unit wanted to hire fresh faces.
48 with only 2 years service.

How many of you 50 or older ask to be "Left Standing"… and got it… even if your position was available???

What if the 55 year olds are 20 or 22 PSGs? Many are. Chevron is probably being inundated now with EEOC complaints for age discrimination as of this month.

Okay folks this is simple. Chevron needs to lay off people to save $ because of the low price of oil. Older folks have worked for the company longer and thus are paid higher salaries. That's why most of the layoffs are of older workers. It's not age discrimination, it's because you make a lot.
What sense would it be to layoff 25 year-olds making $80k when they can lay off 55 year olds making $180k?
Nobody makes it to 65 anymore working for one company so read the writing on the wall and save your $ by living BENEATH your means.
There is a troubling pattern here. I predict a Chevron HR or PGPA shill will begin to post false younger ages.

Wow. I figured it would be artificially lower numbers because younger people using this place over older people
