I am 100% with the original poster here. I WANT OUT WITH PAY! Why should I know do your work and his and hers--when I never ONCE did any of those jobs to begin with--nor was I hired to do them?! I am LUCKY to still have a job on the Titanic? I begged for a severance so I could have some time and money to figure things out--rather than be forced to your job and yours AND YOURS....COME ON NOW!

So if I have worked for WF for 17 years, I only get severance pay for 13 of those years?

Max severence is 26 weeks (13 yrs of working service hours ft), roughly 6 months of payout.

The taxing? Do you mean on the severance?

Flfallguy totally understand. I was laid off and I had been there for over 10 years. A third of my life. The schedule I had didn't let me enjoy my youth. I'm just saying money runs out. Just be prepared with interviews before the next black Monday comes ( jan) btw the taxing on this is insane!

Exactly... Sometimes it is hard to quit a job... Especially if you are invested in what you do... A lay off with severance is basically a do over with a lump sum.

Never use that discount card again.

Boycott WFM and ask your loved ones to do the same . They will feel the pain so well.

It's different for everyone. Keep in mind that many of us have been here a long, long time. As such, we have witnessed the slide that this company was piloted into. Also our severance would be in five figures, paid all at once. If you were given the chance to take thousands of dollars in exchange for having to lose a job at a company you no longer respect, what would you do?

Lol. I was laid off. I get ya. I really do but please don't think that I'm siting here laughing and thinking this is great it's not. Our economy isn't doing too good and jobs aren't easy to find. I have a degree and even with that I was unable to find something decent. That's why I stuck around for so long. Believe me I know you feel over worked. Sending you my best regards, I hope it all works out for you.

Smh. Work. That's what people do for money. Lay offs are not a fortunate event. I'm not loving it. However, if you dislike it that much quit. Take matters in your own hands. No I'm not a troll. I hated it there. Never would've "wished for a lay off"
