You got to be an excellent suck up to withstand them layoffs. I left slb 3 months ago after 5 yrs fully invested. It doesn't matter what you know but who you know and who u suck up to. Disgusting assholes especially down here in louisiana and Texas.

Oh and "managers" here are moved up the corporate ladder, doesn't matter if you use to work on valves or sweep the shop floor. Heck, you don't even need a degree or education. As long as you know someone higher up or prostitute yourself up the corporate ladder, you can make it as high as director or chief of some irrelevant department. I've seen some really quality people who are experienced and knowledgeable replaced by morons who don't even have any knowledge or experience. After all, NOV's motto is, " it's not what you know but WHO you know.
