The real reason that hal bought BHI is that BHI was slowly taking market share fm hal and they wouldn't be able to handle being #3.
Bhi's problem is that the vp's started hiring upper managers who didn't understand the mfg'ing process and thought these "6 sigma gurus'" could improve effiency. But, those outsiders aren't smart enough to comprehend the oil field's mfg'ing process & are too arrogant to listen to those that do.
Long live 6 sigma/lean mfg'ing in a non-production line process.

People who posted their observations below are the real work-force of baker but baker choosed to let them down. It's became like "oil market prostitute" and offer itself to who pay much! BHI reputation was good but now becomes miserable! Poor management, old buildings, incapacity to resolve main issues with major clients, hiring unprofessionals and HR is a different story. They're inable to resolve employee cases, not responding to emails or phones, non compliance to their appointments with employees, less knowledge about HR systems, losing documents from time to time, upgrading incompetent staff to be HR manager ( their justification, as usual, is that they have no enough HR staff), HR manager picking his nationals to upgrade them. Supply chain spending three to four months to import small items. Country management always providing no support and avoiding to communicate with the client's management to solve binding issues and asking their reported to resolve it instead. Weak competition and losing tenders from time to time. Now most people inside Baker are not happy and waiting their fates on Dec.Envy between employees in the same PL. Inability to realease invoices from the client on time. Continues delay in establishing the deals as raised in eCRM and other related issues. Finally, ass kissing creeps are most lucky guys in BHI. As much as you can pretend, lie, mislead BHI you can then spend more time in your job.
