Not sure in current environment that APC would be looking to increase their debt load by 30+%. Especially considering that borrowing will tighten up quite a bit for the energy industry in Q4. Not to rain on the rumor parade with facts or anything, but it bears mentioning.

All Oil & Gas companies stocks are up. Chesapeake being so gas heavy shouldn't trend up as much as they have but also the stock is so cheap right now a little price increase equals a large percentage increase. It will be interesting to see if Anadarko really does acquire Chesapeake but i don't think that todays up trend in price correlated with a downward trend in gas necessarily implies an acquisition.
