They can't correlate IP addresses with specific users, at least on AT&T Mobility, because AT&T assigns private IP addresses (in the 10.* block) to users and runs them all through a NAT, meaning that many users could be sharing the same public IP address.

Never post from a Qualcomm computer or network. All your web traffic is logged, and Qualcomm Legal could compel Qualcomm IT to hand over the information. Use a free or paid VPN (some anonymous proxies only cost $30 /year), and if you want to increase your anonymity further, post using an anonymous prepaid cell data plan (that isn't tied to your name in any way).

If QCOM is stupid enough to sue people for what is posted on this site, they will be handing out substantially more than the obligatory GTFO package to many of the employees. Most of this stuff is opinion. A lot of the alleged "facts" are conjecture--and in some cases may be the rants of disgruntled employees. Anyone who relies on them does so at their own risk. Most intelligent people recongnize this. The website admin. may not even have to respond to the subpoena--depending on the site's privacy policy. Some social media sites won't hand over information to anyone but the person who is named on the account--even with a subpoena. If the employer wants it, they have to file suit agaisnt the employee, and compel them to request it. Even then, the account holder may be able to get a protective order.

Looks like someone did delete the thread containing the thread of Ashley Madison profile lists. So someone with authority is certainly watching over. Just don't be scared!!

From what I have been reading so far on this site there are personal confidential info on Ashley Madison site revealed people's emails which can create divorces, posts on certain races and other stuff like Todd S discrimination and other names that can be subject to subpoena . I thinks everyone posting on this site should be very super super super careful . There aren't nice words on this site or administration on site should delete stuff that can create problem to anybody

This would be a general rule of thumb on things you should avoid in any online communication: Anything illegal as defined by your local laws, involuntary pornography, encouragement or inciting of violence.... Anything that threatens, harasses, or bullies or encourages others to do so, anything that discloses personal and confidential information, anything that impersonates someone in a misleading or deceptive manner, anything that spams, anything that prevents the site from operating as intended.

Which kinds of posts on this site can be subject to subpoena

If QC wanted, they'd be able to sue you regardless of your anonymity (there would have to be a legal grounds for that, therefore you'd have to be disclosing copyrighted data, safety threats, etc). At that point, they would issue a subpoena to the site and layoff.com would be legally bound to comply and disclose info. Aside from your IP address they are not collecting any info, so TOR or VPN may be helpful here.

Use vpn or tor. If you access company email from your phone from home wifi, the company does have your ip. If this site sells info to company, they could then cross check that against their logs. Either way, be sensible in what you post.

I never use my work computer (or I should say Qualcomm network) for anything other than Qualcomm work related tasks. I use my wireless carrier to visit this site. True, www.thelayoff.com doesn't simply hand out IP addresses to correlate with posts - but, I'm sure if you surf the web using a Qualcomm computer sites visited could be logged (or are logged). If you're using your personal cell or some other (non-Qualcomm related) network - then you should be fairly safe - just don't say anything that would identify you or your group and do not say anything that could create some kind of subpoena or search warrant forcing www.thelayoff.com to hand over information.

That's why Q does not like this site too much because they cannot control it; go layoff.com! Please continue sharing workplace experiences onto layoff.com

I do all day long. They can't get you ip address from this website, unless the website gives it to them. There are 1000's of companies profiled on this anonymous website and no leaks. So, no Qualcomm with all its power and threats, can't do a damn thing
