148873 - Thank you for keeping this thread going and thank you for message to the incoming VP. I hope he reads your words and starts looking at the management structure that is in place right now. A word of advise is look at some of these managers that have been moved around over the last few years just barely finishing their "2" year postings, That should raise some red flags. Start to look at the history of these people and I'm sure you will see there are issues. It has become normal for these people to move to other regions or other positions when they should of been outright terminated. In some cases clients would not even deal with these managers and work and contracts were being lost to other wireline providers and it was just laughed off.

These managers are still with the product line, Some have taken lower positions and are trying to stay under the radar but in truth are utter failures. Take a look at your country and regional BUMs put them under the microscope and I'm sure you will see some really interesting things. Brice's boys are still in place in the product line and really need to be weeded out or nothing will really change other than the name plate on VP of wireline's desk.

Dear Mr. Olivier Muller,

Please take a moment a read through the postings below. While it is quite entertaining is seems to reflect a consistent message about Brice and the management he has left behind for you to deal with. It has not been a fun or successful ride over the past 2 to 3 years. The comments below are obviously from the "inside" and for the most part are true and solid. The "Lapdog" has had his run, and has made it nothing but difficult for the people that remain. See through the verbal diarrhea and it is time for a change. Reduce the management structure.

Who is the new VP? Hugh Rexsham does not seem to be an industry veteran.

What did Brice know? How to travel and by expensive wine, for sure that he is good at. The question has to be asked, what positive came from WL during his tenure. Not "knowing" WL is not an excuse! Both he and Bernard must take responsibility!

Brice did not know Wireline and basically tried to keep some WL individuals close to him that he could trust to help him with decisions. That is what happens when you put the wrong people into key positions! Weatherford seems to be an expert at doing just that!

Don't know how he continually stays employed. Several months ago he was the Eastern Hemisphere Director because Brice "could not handle the whole world" and then the regions wanted him gone. Brice again protected him and his him inside the product line as the International Operations Manager. Just a shuffle, instead of actually reducing the GBU's overhead. Proof again why Brice could not manage.

This guy is sitting in Abu Dhabi on a payroll for $18k per month with all housing and taxes paid. He generates no revenue and only ever causes issues. If the wanted to keep him around then why no move him to his he country. Realistically he is getting laid off because no one wants him around, and Brice has become irrelevant.

The lap dog had a meeting at our base late last year and most people were clearly concerned about layoffs and that was main topic of the discussions and all that came out of his mouth was that wireline could not afford too lose anybody and if needed we would move move people to other regions so with wouldn't lose the experience we have. He sounded like a parrot repeating that everyone was worried about something that would never happen, I had history with him when we were still Precision Wireline so I saw through his crap. Almost 50% of the people at the base have now been laid off now. No love lost for the lap dog.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Please don't make excuses for Brice. He was the supposed VP of WL for a few years and could have made all the changes he saw fit. The problem is simple... Ego, lack of knowledge and some more ego. He advertised himself early on as a "entrepreneur and businessman" well after several years lets see, FOP = DOWN, REVENUE = DOWN, Marketshare = DOWN, COSTS = out of control and the list goes on and on. Is he an idiot, NO but he definitely could have checked his ego at the door and listened to the people who have been around for a while. His lap dog Rahul is just that a barking chihuahua, and tends to repeat everything Brice says, or even funnier is when Brice ask Rahul for an opinion and they can't decide. Yes the market collapsed but that is not Brice's fault! But the state of WL is!!! Parker, Alvaro, Bill all had vision and dedication, Brice just kept the seat warm.

I remember his first few days 'I am a entrepreneur".... If he is so much of an entrepreneur why is WL dead?

I think you guys are being too kind to Brice. He was the leader for WL and he could have done all the changes he wanted. He made his poor choices and that's why he is out. Whoever the new VP is if this coterie continues he will be doomed too. If they get someone internal that might work better. Alvaro was a good VP too bad Nick Gee ran him off...

144571 - I agree with your comments and I think you hit the nail on the head. Bouffard put too much faith and trust into the support team that should have been run off a long time ago and they continued to do what they had been doing and wireline was ran into the ground. With oil prices heading south someone had to take the fall eventually and that was Bouffard. The people that created the mess are still there although they may have been moved around to different regions so everything can be equally destroyed. It will be interesting to see in the next little while if this is addressed by the new VP and heads start to roll. If not I think wireline is heading down the toilet and it's really sad to see that.

Bouffard is not an idiot. However, he was in over his head in his position. He only knew wireline in general principles, not the specific details. He was also caught by the petroleum price drop. With his previous company, he had a significant support team around him but at Weatherford, it was significantly smaller than what he was used to.

I doubt if any of the posters here could do much better than he did. Don't know if the new VP will be able to do much better than Bouffard.

Bouffard is a incompetent idiot. He has singlehandedly run this product line in the ground. Now he moves off into a cushy account management job??

They aren't going to tell you because they know everyone will jump ship. You have to open your own eyes and ask why the people who are moving away from Wireline are doing so!

Shutting down or finally selling off? That would be the best for all the remaining people who put their heart and soul into that product line over the years and built it up long before Weatherford even looked at it. Hopefully soon after that the axe man will start swinging at all the ex SLB rejects that have put it in the mess that it's in today...Just say'n

Shutting down? Well its about time, between WL in US and Canada neither one of the countries can actually break even. US WL has a new PLM and the old one has been promoted into R&D because he has done such a stellar job. The GBU keeps stuffing people in their group that should have been fired a long time ago. The International Operations Manager who sits in Abu Dhabi is a good good place to start, this guy is useless and draws a huge salary.

The old VP of WL has been pushed into a VP of Anadarko, and WFT continues to pay for him to get his Green Card. He should be sent back home to Europe.

Shut it down and sell off the parts. The COMPACT Conveyance honeymoon is over, and now the GBU is pushing the SecureView. This is just a marketing tool there is nothing new about the SecureView. They have just taking old tools and given them a new commercial new. The product line is DOOMED.
