Not that I have received a notice.
But are we asked to come and work till the end of Nov after the notice gets sent?

Don't worry--QCOM is busily attempting to hire as many contract employees as possible to make sure key positions are not short-staffed. They must have exhausted their quota of H1-Bs--because the "body shops" are now calling Americans and offering $75+ in many cases. (As opposed to the $35-$50/hr a few months ago.) Greedy bastards take at least 25% off the top--so jack them up before you refuse! We should post the position and the highest offer prices we get on thelayoff.com, so QCOM is forced to at least pay full-value.
If you're like most people, you won't have to work after you receive notice. You will be able to leave at any time after that and still receive your package, but if you do that, you will officially stop being an employee and no longer be paid any salary or receive any benefits. The 60 notice period is an offer for you to keep working your current job at Qualcomm for 60 days, and during that time, continuing to be paid and receive usual benefits.
Q&A says that you need to work through the 60-day notice period.
go/realignment Q&A you will find answer
Make that.......expectations will not be for people to be thrilled and be doing their best work.
The WARN Act says you get sixty days notice before you are unemployed.
Those impacted will be expected to work as usual that sixty days from what everything I have heard. Granted I think expectations will
not be for people not to be thrilled and be doing their best work. But don't slack off and get a PIP and turn it into being fired. No severance.
Nope once u are going to laid off they will take ur badge. U will get ur salary till nov. But won't be allowed to come to work. Because u will have no interest to work anyway. This is the way they did for one of my friends
