Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

I can’t believe the gall of this company. My spouse was laid off recently, probably because he was older and higher paid. They replaced him with a younger employee that has been with COP for just under two years. His former boss called and asked if he would mind walking this kid through some problem she was having. My hubby told them he would be glad to help; his rate was 300 an hour with an 8 hour minimum. Moral of the story; don’t throw out experience.

This is not unreasonable, think in terms of what the company is getting for $2.4K - there is a lot of value in knowledge and advice so it's a Win Win for both sides.
