Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Has the merger gone through?

I have read a few posts suggesting that the merger has gone through. Is this true? Where are you getting the info from? All the info I am finding is telling me that the european union and the D.O.J. are having problems with this merger.

I think Dave may have bite off more than he can chew on this Baker deal.

When Dick bought Dresser and all the asbestos suits. At least we still had a industry that was healthy.

This time it might not work out to good for Halliburton.

You are a fool. Halliburton has recently opened up a financing branch to help out other companies in trouble financially. The deal has already gone through sorry to make you cry

Sorry guys. Hope this don't make you cry. The deal didn't go through. In fact Halliburton right now is coming up with a legal way to back out without having to pay breakup fee. Right now at Halliburton we can't afford to purchase Bhi. This would break the company. 2016 will be bad for us. We have estimated total head count will be up to 30k total employees left. That's being generous. Even talk of us selling off a few product lines just so the name Halliburton can survive. Get ready guys.

With SLD's latest deal, DOJ & EU have added pressure now to approve the deal. The Markets downturn (even with how harsh it's been) has been somewhat of a blessing for the M&A. It seams as tho a lot of mergers will take place over the next year. Traders optimism has risen & if you read recent news posts, you'll get a sense that the deal is very close to closing. My guess is asset sales with be released within 30 days. The only real question is, WHO WILL RISE UP TO CHALLENGE SLB & HAL as a competitive alternative????? I belive that's why the delay has been so long. HAL doesn't want to create competition for itself, so they tried to sell as little as they needed to, speaking the assets around, in hopes, they wouldn't be bundled. The deal will go through by the end of the year. But I'm just a field hand w/ an Internet connection & a lot of my own questions. Just been an obsession lately. Cheers
