Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Advice to everyone in north america operations

Do not be fooled by thinking that your colleague will go and you will stay. This is the worst of layoffs. Huge Chunk is coming off. Prepare for it. Make sure you have at least 1 years of savings handy and prepare for life ahead of COP.

Good luck! This is not the end of world instead a new starting.

Uhh, a bit late to give this advice on preparing for it buddy.

If you were under-performing, you can expect to get the chopping block. If you're a good performer, they'd be a fool to let you go. Even if they do, you can go elsewhere and do well.

Either way it's upto YOU to make sure you're worth something in the market whether it's as an employee or a business man/woman. There are too many people who simply aim to be lifers and suck off COP.

The company will take this chance to shed dead weight, and if that's you - well, that's on you.

Good luck,

Corn Flakes
