On the Hindenberg, the passengers saw the flames, panic surrounded them, a news commentator decried "oh, the humanity" and some jumped from the burning wreckage to later survive. None were better off. Is this what we are left with? Will we be only a small office in Bartlesville and a tiny office in Houston when this is all done? What happened to my great company?

It sounds like the end of the world. For those around in the 80's, this is approaching the same level.
This is more like the battle of Verdun. People wallowing around in their own filth watching their comrades get taken out only to realize the end is nigh.
L48 committed to lease Energy Center 3&4. Staff insufficient for EC4 and so EC4 (or parts of) will sit empty. P66 will complete the corporate offices at 8 / Westheimer and depart the ConocoPhillips complex creating space for an additional 1000-2000 employees.
Houston will layoff more than 900
Houston will layoff more than 900
Do you think they can fit everyone into the main complex in Houston? What about the two new buildings we just paid for. Or, did we lease those?
There will be far more than 500 in Houston. The mention of "greater than 500" in the email Houston employees received was to fulfill a legal notification of a massive layoff as per a U.S. law. Greater than 500 could mean 550 or it could mean 1500.
This project started with them saying Centre will get most effected...thats how they sold idea of going from integrated to independent company...now the details are 500 out of 3300 layoffs in houson.. and 500 out of 2100 layoffs in Calgary.. is that even fair????
Expect no office in Bartlesville. The corporate complex is Houston is of value to no one other than ConocoPhillips with office space sufficient for the entire corporate staff.
