Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

One of the key ways to keep your job is to increase your value to Baker Hughes

Many ways to do that outside of working more, including self improvement, enhancing your efficiency, taking training courses, completing Achieve modules, reading relevant books, attending conferences, networking, etc.

Why are people so pissed that they get let go? Its a business people. Yes it will be a scramble during the uptick but do you really think a company can keep paying people with no revenue being generated. Get real. If you were the owner of company would you pay your employees to sit around and do nothing while the company is loosing money and HOPE revenue starts coming?

Keep your job with Baker? Think seriously. It is not very likely that HAL will keep many Baker employees when they take over. Yes, you should take computer courses to upgrade your resume, but don't plan on working for Baker next year.

Cute! How about you give advice to BH when they're scrambling to hire qualified people during an uptick? How about less red tape nonsense and higher pay? How about managers that care more about efficiency and basic logic than playing golf? How about we stop the teamwork and loyalty lies and be honest? You're on your own. You're a number. No one cares about you or your family except you. Get all you can while you can. If another company offers you more, jump at it faster than BH drops employees during a downturn.
