Retention numbers for the end of the summer quarter are the worst in history.

464 looks to be an upper management employee trolling the site. So it's pretty simple, the game is over and the students have caught edmc with the hand in the cookie jar. Game is, over. You know that saying "when the cracks begin to show", well they've now become visible enough that the students are seeing right through it. So to all my other fellow Ai students, save your money, go to a community college, and get out before the lights go out for good.

456 You may be better cutting your losses and finishing at a community college. Six months of tuition to The Art Institute could buy you a car or start a down payment on your home. Don't feel trapped - get out and take your friends at AIP with you.

456 What are you prepared for? What is the view of the EDMC/Art Institute situation from a students perspective? I'd love to read your thoughts.

OP, what other sites do you go to as a student? The more we cross pollinate, the sooner the truth can get out. The only ones I know of are run by the school so no chance of honesty there.

More people are using twitter, instagram, facebook, and writing reviews (and congress ect.) to get the word out about these fraud factories. They can't delete all the negative reviews and if people keep posting the truth word will spread. EDMC doesn't have the staff or money they used to either.

I'm a former student too and learned about this site trying to find out more information about the lawsuits. The previous poster is right. I didn't know about EDMC (the fraud, lawsuits other schools they owned) until after I was enrolled. I follow a few boards every few weeks just to see the status of the company and other major for profits.

153... I applaud you... You have more balls than many of our teachers or staff. It is deplorable business and needs to be exposed!

I have a ledger of fraud I am waiting to unveil!

One more comment... for-profit-colleges are getting a lot more negative press. Maybe because I am living it I notice it more but with the upcoming election I think it will be a hard topic to ignore. I'm also following The University of Phoenix and others out of interest now. Honestly, I hope they all go non-profit or fold if they are anything like they sound from former employers and students.

I don't work for EDMC but learned of this site because it was linked to a few times on the "I am AI" FB page. I think AI has been smart keeping EDMC a secret. Now students are talking about their issues more in online forums and you can read a lot more reviews than a year ago. Each quarter the school gets worse and instead of just venting some students are trying to get the word out in a way that will prevent others from making mistakes. I don't have huge loans so don't have that issue but it doesn't mean I am ok with it for others. I'm not a moron but I learned about the 11B lawsuit after I was enrolled. I did the tour - saw some red lights - but thought why not? I'll learn something? I wasted my time not loads of money. My friends and I are all expecting to see more layoffs this week. Also, we can see the stress everyone is under. It's a really bad environment. Many students are thinking of getting their AS and going somewhere better for their bachelor's.

out of curiosity how do you (as a student) find THIS site? I've seen other supposed students on here but the only thing i can think of for your case is that your employer is edmc. it just makes me wonder

I'm one of those students dropping out at the end of the quarter. I'm in a better situation than most - my employer offered to pay for part of my education so I enrolled at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in the Culinary program. I toured the school and heard nice things about a few of the teachers so gave it a chance. It wasn't the cleanest culinary school but my options in the area are limited. Even without paying it is a horrible program and not worth my time. The director of the program is clueless and full of himself. He's on an ACF culinary team and they just use him for marketing. I asked him basic questions about classes and it was obvious he had no clue what I was talking about. Teachers take very long smoke breaks, talk on the phone, talk with each other, and seem to hate their lives just like others have said. The storeroom and the restaurant should be shut down for health code violations. We never have the product we need for labs or the quality is poor and the equipment is beat up. I have more culinary tools than the school. When I was in high school I worked at Wendy's and it was cleaner than AI. At the start of the term I came back to gossip of the faculty layoffs - who stayed, who left, who is part time. Classes were cut in hours with no explanation. A class that I was looking forward to taking was cut from 6 credits to 3 credits and the instructor took the buy out so the one class I wanted to take isn't offered anymore. The bottom line for me though is the quality of education isn't worth my time even if it isn't costing me much. The classes are so easy. REALLY EASY. I have a 3.8 and I don't give a shit about my worthless homework. I turn in crap and get perfect scores. I highly doubt the lab class instructors even read the homework. They are hiring recent graduates to teach classes. The school kisses the asses of vets for their money. It is disgusting. The dean lives in Atlanta so never around and he's mr. company shill. I have a lot of my issues documented and after this quarter I plan to write it all down with times and dates and plaster my horrible review all over the internet. I can't wait to see this fraud mill close. A lot of other students are talking about quitting too. We tell the students who tour the school to look online and read and to check out I am AI before they sign papers.
