Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Smug HR A-holes.

Do you think any of the smug HR A-holes will get laid off once the dirty work is done? Or will they continue to sit in the shadows behind Management and like the slimy weasels they are?

The last two "performance reviews" included fabricated information. The individuals noted in the fabricated information contacted HR / Ethics to note the fabrication. In the end the layoff was the better option as poor performance reviews ended career opportunities at the company. Yes HR and Ethics are weak at ConocoPhillips.

Managers at ConocoPhillips have been lying about "performance" in order to fire employees without severance/stock grants/bonus. This happened weeks before the layoffs started. I suspect that's why the VP HR left in April.

Performance cannot be a factor in a layoff as a layoff by definition is termination "through no fault of your own".

Acquirers of ConocoPhillips won't inherit a toxic culture if they keep the assets and lay off the employees. That way they keep their own ...

A lot of those smug HR assholes are getting laid off - they serve management, so their behavior is a reflection of management.

Managers at ConocoPhillips do not reward performance with the performance ranking system - they reward seniority and folks that look like them. My personal experience involved getting canned with no stock grants or bonus after delivering on all my targets and pulling 12-hrs days in 2014. The exit interview never referred to my performance agreement.

A warning to potential acquirers of ConocoPhillips - you will be adding a toxic culture.

The VP of HR was laid off prior to 4/1/15 when others were laid off. She didn't agree with the performance review ranking system.

HR is weak at ConocoPhillips. The deficits in expertise in the HR staff is supplemented with an excess of lawyers. Senor members will retire and/or be terminated. Expect layoffs of the less senior members. HR is weak but well aware of the location of the skeletons.

Oh, They'll get it all right. Only the ones that actually try to help solve problems, though.
