I'm not here to debate old CHK versus the new Chesadarko. Truth is, CHK ceased to exist in 2013. Doug Lawler was hired to take the company in a new direction. With all the Anadarko hires, and the untouchable CHK leftovers, that was accomplished. None of their actions were geared toward the well being of the employees. Their goal was to salvage the assets and prepare the company to be sold. All upper management is being compensated generously, and will have an obscene payoff when the assets are sold. When former Anadarko employees do not move their families to OKC, you can bet they are in it for a quick turnover and large payday. Dpreupdate your resumes and be prepared to take a pay cut for your next job. Also prepare to move out dof OKc for future e ploy net. Best of luck to all of you-I've been ther, and can attest there is life after Chesadarko!

Oh please. One out of the umpteen APC people didn't move there family up here and that's your proof they came to sell the company? Just stupid is all that is. They came to SAVE CHK. The AKM era officer group will be the ONLY executives to rape and pillage CHK with their excessive exit packages.....the APC people that joined don't have those "special assigned AKM employment agreements". The board got rid of those! Get all your facts straight folks before you comment out here. I too believe that if the commodity price hadn't tanked CHK would be riding high above the peer group for the first time - ever.
Some bitter queen responses here. The original post did not defend the old CHK. Believe what you want, but the company assets will be sold. To those of you facing layoffs in the near term: best of luck. You will survive.

I hear if they found knee pads and lip balm in your office during sweeps over the weekend your job should be safe for awhile.
I feel much better with Doug running the company. Had we not hit a low oil/gas price market in '15, CHK would be kicking ass right now. Doug Spend 65% less and grew production. Had he not have done that, CHK campus would be empty today. So all you complaining assholes thinking that Doug ruined the company, you're smoking crack. He took a fantasy land and made it sustainable. I also am very happy the 401k match was turned to cash instead of stock. Imagine if all of our match was in CHK over the past 9 months?!
Maybe you got let go cause you can't spell.. I was an entry level employee who was not "untouchable" as well several people I work with.. The company was being ran into the ground and was way over staffed. They were weeks away from not making payroll. I don't pretend to know the future but everyone who was working there at the time who didn't realize it wasn't going to last was living in a dream world.
