I truly appreciate the Chevron Layoffs site - informative, insightful, thought provoking, sometimes jaded, sarcastic, cynical, crude & cruel! I would like to start a new post on just the lighter side of what absurdity did I witness today or WTF! Ok .... "A Houston tower 9 am "stretch break" with 1 paid instructor and 1 CVX employee on a floor of 80+ people then at 2 pm a contract employee joined thus doubling the participation, meanwhile oil was dropping below $45 on the TV behind them!

I don't remember ever seeing a safety moment on obesity. Instead they consisted of a hot water burn at the coffee station or cut finger of a cafeteria worker. Chevron's middle managers may be responsible for Houston's rank as America's fattest city.

Most frightening sight in Chevron: standing outside the elevators in 1500 Louisiana St. in the morning watching all the obese, pear shaped fat people waddle in to work. You're all goin to die of diabetes and heart attacks before Chevron lays you off !
It's not the CVX management and owners/shreholders that prompted all the ridiculous over the top fitness, safety, etc. It's the employees with their threat of lawsuits. If any of you want to know Where TF all the WTF silliness and waste originates, simply look no further than in your own mirror.
