Yeah, Richard's next update is scheduled for the16th. Let's see, that is about two weeks since his last update. Like I said, he is committed to communication. But I guess to you nay-sayers he is just doing this because he likes to share bad news. Or he is a jerk. Or whatever.

Yep, 500 triggers the WARN Act reporting, and 60 day advance notice. I have never seen anyone say there will only be 500 gone in Houston. I think exploration, technology and deepwater projects group is going to exceed that.

Here is the link to a page with the video referenced by 150916: https://global.cop.net/function/Exploration/Pages/deepwater.aspx. You'll have to be on a COP network to access.

Stay tuned - according to video there will be an update in two weeks so look for it around mid-month.

The video is telling 900 more layoff in Houston area. 500 is only trigger number to report to Texas workforce.

Lunam is the kind of leader that COP needed. Paul try getting up off your butt when you address your employees. Are you too lazy or too important to have to stand up when talk to the group?

Agreed 150420...I wish everyone involved was as transparent. Whatever happened to Ryan's catchphrase from last year? Remember "Said...Did"? During several analyst meetings he used that phrase in the context of "We said it...then we did it". Apparently that doesn't apply to COST team transparency.

Yeah, because Richard Lunam is very committed to communication and keeping his exploration staff informed. He's got a challenge ahead of him to retain talent when there are very big cuts in exploration program, and significant about-face to strategy (no deepwater). Lunam replaced Archibald. He is a strategy person, and a people person. I heard he put some of the other leadership in difficult positions by being so open, when others are not. Good for Richard.
