Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

I bet all the posters complaining about H1-Bs and complaining about affordability of home prices aren't even Qualcomm employees.

Most likely, they are low skilled, unskilled blue collar workers or minimum wage workers that were laidoff/outsourced and currently unemployed or underemployed...most likely visiting other sections of this blog about their previous employer, that happens to visit this section pertainign to qualcomm to vent about their general plight...That's why you get a bunch of Trump whiners complaining about H1-Bs and complaining about illegal immigrants stealing "their jobs" at the same time (despite someone in high tech wouldn't be cross shopping for a job occupied by a skilled H1-B and a unskilled job done by illegal immigrants at the same time). That's why you get a bunch of random real estate crashing post in random areas like Mammoth that have nothing to do with what is going on here. And that's why you get a bunch of people asking about general questions about the Q which, if they were an employee (even if a temp/contractor/non-tech person, would already know the answer to)...

If you're competing against illegals for a job, you've got problems financially and socially.

Even the mexican helpers use things like repairclinic and other DIY websites.. Who doesn't these days? Oh, wait. Now you can blame not only H1-B's, and illegals..You can also blame YouTube and the internet for stealing "your jobs"...hahahahahaha.

No way man, it's not that we can't do it. It's just we can find some mexican to do it for much less time and effort...I can't think of the last time I used american unionized labor for appliance/plumbing/heating at all.. Besides, even I were to call the $400 plumber/electrician/AC specialist/handyman, he's going to subcontract it out to his mexican helper anyway. So I simply cut the fat ass american middleman, and go right to the guy that actually does the real job and pay him more than his boss would have, and pay considerably less than what I would have paid his boss... You know that's how it works, especially in construction...
