Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

On the KS Endeaver accident many people tried to use Stop Work Authority and were over-ruled. The RCA is so top secret that even employees in Nigeria such as myself never saw it. Doesnt seem transparent to me. When the Nigerian villagers sued CVX my boss came into my office to tell me that CVX is under a "gag rule", and must not talk about the KS Endeavor accident which created a huge crater in the ocean floor and resulted in thousands of gallons of diesel fuel and other chemicals being released into the ocean. In fact, my boss said quote, "I don't know what they are suing us for." Just goes to show the kind of regard that NMA has for people and the environment.

Exposing facts is not trashing our company.

Chevron's been good to me too, I have given to Chevron a lot too, we are equal in my mind... But when you see incompetency, mismanagement, nepotism, where do you go and vent/complain? I do it here, nowhere else to go, it's kind of therapeutical...

I never intended to silence anyone. Just to point out that chevron is a great company and the people on this site are full of anger and uncertainty. Some of it is justified. The company has its problems and is horrible at transparency. But it is a great company. It has been good to me and my family . These are tough times for everyone. The best thing you all can do is just try and stay positive, this will pass and in time chevron will get through this, the price of oil will go up and we will go on. -OP

Great post and I do agree for the most part. Been with company for over 24 years and have had great bosses until the last 4 years... Management in my department should go! No support from immediate supervisor, who has no clue how hard we work because he has never worked as hard in his life! I am use to Supervisors who are actually working Supervisors. I like a boss who knows what the hell it takes for me to do my job and just doesn't bark out the orders...I have always been fortunate to have a boss who could do my job if we needed the support...Not anymore!!!
