Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

Fact is: CHK should be no more than 2500 employees in today's environment.

Let the cutting begin so CHK can survive. The "CHK circus campus" needs to be over even though it will devastate some people. We can all thank AKM for getting CHK so bloated and debt ridden but Lawler its on you now. So please get CHK in order this time and get rid of more overpaid senior executives too. The sooner the better.

As a quick "smell test"... ask yourself if you have very little work to do. If yes, likely candidate for layoffs. Is your work documented in a visible way? Are you simply looking busy for 8 hours a day? If you have little work, good chances you'll be canned. I'd cancel the 401k now to get cash heavy ASAP. Spend everything in your Flex Spend account too! Empty that thing as soon as possible!

same as all companies these days. Limited or no leasing or drilling leads to boredom and 8 hrs of candy crush.

We are all just a number. Business is business. CHK has too many employees and everyone knows it. Lots of people I see sitting around all day on their phones with no work going on.

152190, you sound like you add value. But in reality you are nothing. Thanks for sounding all, "better for the company".

Let's see your bitch ass attitude once you get a 3 month severance. You are just a number.

We have about 5,500 direct employees company-wide, right? If you think field ops can be properly executed with more than a 50% reduction in workforce, you're delusional. Perhaps the mothership is overstaffed, but the field (at least my play) is running as efficiently as ever.

In my group we have VP, Director, Manager, Coordinator, Specialist, and about 4 levels of rank below that. You mean to tell me that's not a typical structure? Pay no mind that the middle 4 levels all do the exact same thing, can't sweat the small stuff.
