There is a Title Audit happening right now - they are looking into titles and org structure. There is a plan to clean up the org structure, to streamline it and make it more flexible as we continue to shift resource. In addition, they want to get rid of many VP and Director level positions so they can free up cash flow and deal with RSU issues (or lack of available stock to be distributed w/out additional purchases)

Nothing bad in having no direct reports or big departments as long as you contribute value on a VP level and justify very high compensation level. I know a couple of VPs who fit this criteria. Many of them do not.
QC VP positions kinda work like movie producers. There is one maybe two real producers, and rest of all given the title to justify the financial handout. If S&M can become a CEO, then most people can become VP’s.
I worked in 4 companies with revenues over 10 Billion, in every single one of them you have VP level resources without direct reports. Once you achieve certain size, it's simply necessary.
My title is VP of Business Specialization (VP BS).
@Anonymous152930 - character assassination by an anonymous poster, huh... shame on you, you coward.
When new SVP’s get hired, they get to bring in his posse. Many of those at director level are people to insulate the new SVP from the day-to-day BS. So, start looking at the SVP’s hire in the recent years. Who are the new SVP’s.
I heard about here for the first time - what do we know?
