My best advice for the future CEO of the combined company is to make sure you understand the culture and current capabilities from the start. Learn what Baker Hughes does well and where it may struggle. Every merger that succeeds encounters numerous hurdles and obstacles. And the biggest struggle or obstacle will be to ensure all 40,000 Baker Hughes employees are committed to a common vision and culture. Good luck to you, Mr. Lesar.

My advice to the multiple CEO's who pick up the scraps after the failed merger and bankruptcy.
Give it the old college try. You couldn't possibly screw anything up worse than the other millionaires did before you.
