HP to layoff 20-30k. moving jobs to low cost countries?

Back in late August they announced 55K cuts, they added 5% more a few days later. They are offloading people from the payroll, many of them will be offered to continue working, but they will be rehired by Ciber and Modis/Adecco. Ciber and Modis/Adecco are cutting pay anywhere between 20 to 30 percent, folks are losing seniority, 401k and benefits are not as good as with HP. Overall, it's messy. This impacted US and Canada, Canada is mostly going to Ciber. There is a ton of posts on our page here on layoffs.com dealing with this topic, not as active as QCOM but still, there is a few posts or replies every day. HP has sunk so low and is in process of disintegrating as a company, it's a downward spiral and no effort to stop the decay is being made. Right now, you have senior folks all busy trying to figure out how to financially engineer things, realign verticals, cut this and that, what to buy or sell. There is no focus on product development, no focus on customer, development, etc. So, you will see a slow and gradual decay in value here and folks might consider us if you have a stomach for a long term stock shorting play.
Ahahahahaha! Should have gone to trade school

I am not the poster above but HP is splitting and when companies split up, there is often a huge layoff
