You're probably laid off. Taking a vacation, really? How allowed was that in your group?
I know of one person that optioned to be laid off. They just told me that they talked to their boss's boss weeks ago and was given a package similar to what has been described in earlier posts.

The layoffs started on Tuesday or possibly on Monday but you won't know unless the people that are affected choose to share the news. They will still be working for the next two months. Among my close friends 3 have been notified.
