Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

H1Bs hit pretty hard.

They make up about 55% of laid off population and they make up about 25% of the company.

H1B, citizens, Greencard holders, etc. has nothing to do with layoffs. It is based on talent and requirement according to which direction the company heads want to go in. I personally know people with H1B who were let go as well as citizens. It is completely based on who they need and don't.

They didn't get Q'd. They got FuQed up the butt. It's the Qualcomm way.

H1bs are on temp visa. Therefore, they are temporary.

This is smart from Q to lay off H-1Bs so they avoid potential lawsuit risks.

H1Bs are permanent employees. Get your facts straight.

Since they are temporary workers h1bs should be let go before perm employees. Same goes for contractors. Unfortunately I don't think QC has much care for perm employees to do the ethical thing.

Heard something similar from a friend in the HR. Qualcomm is doing it to avoid getting sued.
