All the best for those who got cutoff from Q. I know a few companies in SD have openings for software engineers. One of my friends recently interviewed at a company called "Pattern Insight". Their office is in Sorrento Valley, right next to Q. It is a small company but the job is quite stable, with salary and benefit similar to Qualcomm's.

Fitbit is expanding its San Diego office. They are hiring 100 engineers in the next few months. They have an online coding interview followed by an onsite interview in their SFO office. Lookup their openings on Linkedin.
If you have security clearance in SD - you are golden. All the defense companies are hiring in their engineering teams.
Mitchell International seems to be hiring a lot of engineers and product manages these days.
Someone please start a site for recommendations like this. Even if startups with low pay but perhaps future stock or whatever. I'm in OC, a victim of another company's layoff. Sick of looking at job listings from Monster/Indeed/etc. It would be much better to get input from those who either post the jobs or those who discovered them. Starting with a growing company is so much better than getting placed in one that is dying.
