I'm with Omnitracs in San Diego, our division was "carved out" and bought by Vista Equity partners last year. There was an exodus of people and lots of layoffs. My coworkers found great jobs and were most likely promoted, paid more, or got an upgrade in tittle.
San Diego companies highly value QC engineers. A product manager is now a VP of Product for a competitor. My friend who got laid off today starts her new job on Monday for HP. So keep your head up, move on, and stay positive.
