Oh yes, two-faced Ryan. The message to Bartlesville is quite to the contrary to the message to Houston. Focus on the improvements as of late to Houston facilities and the lack of improvements as of late to Bartlesville facilities. The staff may or may not move to Houston but the positions will be eliminated in Bartlesville.

Think what you like about either city and their employees. The fact remains that COP chose Houston to be the headquarters.

I've lived and worked in Houston and Bartlesville and can assure you there are plenty of morons in both offices.

Houston has one big advantage over Bartlesville. If you are about to lose your job, which most of you are, there are more future employment opportunities. Having lived in 8 countries, I would take BVO over Houston any day. Traffic in Houston is only slightly better than Bangkok or Jakarta but only just a smidge better. Of course I hate BVO during rush hour. That extra two minutes on my commute makes me want to shoot someone. You'll probably read about it in the Examiner Enterprise. Yes Houston has many more things. Too bad you can't afford them on unemployment benefits. Lack of zoning in Houston has made it the worst city in the USA.

Bartlesville may not have a whole lot to offer but Tulsa isn't too bad, with it being only a 45 minute drive. Housing is pretty cheap here, crime not all that bad, and traffic is light. So much Bville bashing pretty sure they've never lived here, so you're opinion is shit. As far as quality of employees from Bville are inferior to Houston where are you getting this from? Must be another one of your baseless opinions you're so fond of sharing with us we get it though your just a touch of the special side.

Calling Bartlesville a shit hole is not necessarily an indication of a dislike for Bartlesville. Odd the pro Bartlesville staff take everything so personal.

I've lived in Houston and Bartlesville. Both have their pros and cons. Houston: Bumper traffic no matter when/where you travel; long commutes; high crime; meth users (believe it or not); road rage and drivers taking shots at you while driving down the street; no zoning so really great neighborhoods next to low-income apartments with gang activity (I've seen this). Variety of great restaurants; great malls and shopping areas; entertainment (variety of theaters, professional teams); lot of things to do/places to go in evenings

Bartlesville: Limited shopping; limited grocery stores; limited evening activity/places to go for YP; limited nice restaurants (special dinners). Short Commute; little traffic; low crime; great family community; Community Center offers some great events (Symphony, Ballet, Broadway in Bartlesville) for town this size.

Neither is perfect and just because you #156321 don't like Bartlesville doesn't make it any worse than crowded, hot, humid, Houston.

Oh yes the day to day offerings in Bartlesville are an improvement over the day to day offering in Houston. The meet and greet of the meth addicts to share needles is a highlight of the day for the majority of the residents in Bartlesville. Bartlesville is a shit hole at best.

Yes Houston provides much better quality of life. Just think of all the self-improvement opportunities with audiobooks and two hour commutes each way. It amazes me to see Houstonians sound so superior. It understand that from New Yorkers. But Houstonians are just one generation removed Trailer Trash. They need to have someone to look down on.

Office space is no longer at a premium in Houston. The departure of P66 staff creates opportunities to move positions from Bartlesville to Houston. The buildings in Bartlesville are of no value. The buildings in Houston are of value. Unless ConocoPhillips concludes the campus in Houston is for sale by owner the campus in Houston needs occupancy rates of 90% or better. And more importantly, the qualify of the candidates for roles in Houston are far higher vs. the quality of the candidates for roles in Bartlesville. The contractors fresh off the boat from 3rd world countries are appalled with the offerings in Bartlesville. Bartlesville cannot even provide quality water to the residents as noted by the annual "turning of the lake".

Why is it absurd if it is cheaper?

Empty seats in Houston and Bartlesville. ConocoPhillips will fill the empty seats in Houston first. How many empty floors justified abandoning Bartlesville altogether? The infatuation with Bartlesville is absurd.

For now until KPMG tells them need to move to Houston. Or KPMG convinces mgt to outsource the finance functions to KPMG.
