I've been following this site quite a bit, I interviewed a month or so ago, and they finally made an offer. I'm so concerned that I almost don't want to take the job, I had another offer, I still might go with. Why would they even hire me given all the layoffs, and I wonder how long I'll even have a position there?

Not true. There are 3 newbies just joined Q in WT. Do your homework and open your eyes, Senior Staff Manager!
Folks, this is a troll.
Senior Staff Manager here.
All new requisitions from outside, even former employee cases frozen at least 3 months ago.
Your offer might be invalid now as the team just gone
Are you serious? You want to work at a company that just cut 15% of its workforce -- that's around 4,500 people! What do you think morale is going to be like for the next year or so? For the 85% who remain at QC, it will be expected that they work even harder now with fewer people there. Companies that focus on cost cutting spiral out of control. You can only stop cutting costs when revenues begin to ramp up again. With all of the uncertainty at QC with countries investigating QC for unfair business practices, that will keep revenues from ramping up quickly. Lastly, how do you think people will feel about you potentially filling a job req that could have gone to someone who was laid off? Think hard before you decide to start in 2 weeks.
I'd take it actually. Despite all the layoffs now, they're just trimming the fat, if you come on board it's a pretty chill place to work. Only certain groups work millions of hours (even that I think is a smokescreen - I think they work 'harder' not smarter, all about staying late and showing your face to 'get ahead'). In general it's pretty good place to work and you'll most likely be happy here.
Do it smartly: accept the offer and work there for couple of months and then collect unemployment for a year once you let go in the next round of layoffs.
It's a good place to work. I work 15 hours/week and mostly surf the internet. managers are so dumb you can literally make shit up and they will believe you.
Don't expect any raise, bonus, promotion within 1 to 2 years.
They are reserved exclusively for the CEO and his few buddies.
Go trickle-down economics!
Sure, we believe you............Job offer at this time LOL
This is a troll alert. I know that all new reps have been frozen for quite a while now.
Take the offer, chill out for a bit, collect a few paychecks, then go to the other company. It's not like much is happening here, just chaos for a while, so use to your advantage.
Even people that are not laid off, they think their job won't last long, because the shitty top leadership left unchanged.
Don't join the Q at this time, you will regret it.
How about going to Intel, Google or Apple?
I'd take the other offer. Do you really want to work for a company where morale is in the toilet and everybody fears this is just the first layoff?
Welcome! Slave!
You'll get a good severance during orientation, walk straight through n and out the back to the garage....
Why would you want to go to the Q? Go with your other offer.
