Were you born an asshole or did you work at it? You act like COP's evaluations are accurate....far from it. It's is usually who kisses the most ass.
The company employed you, paid you well, and no longer needs you. Why would COP "owe" you anything? Didn't you get remunerated? Did you think this was a tenured position or a Civil Service job? It's the friggin' oil patch. This has been happening for decades. They don't owe you anything and you don't owe them anything.
Be as romantic as you like, but they are beholden to the shareholder. If you fall in the bottom 10%, then you have noone to blame but yourself. Quit complaining
