Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

The question is not IF it's WHEN QTI will be sold. The most likely customer is Samsung.

2 more rounds of layoffs to lean up the headcount and it's a done deal by April.

Why would SS need to buy QCT when we are already a captive design house for them? Selling them the RTP team would make sense. Get 800 heads off the books and set their CPU back by 2 years. Love to see those guys try to work at Korean pace!

What a coup that would be! The team that created the major selling CPU for the most popular cores, 8x50, 8972 and next 820 is no longer part of QTI. But hey, the incredibly talented and wise team that brought the 810 would belong to Samsung. Win win

google will never buy a low profit, mature semiconductors company, and apple has its own chip and the modem comes almost free from qcom itself or intc soon, so the only interest would be from samsung. they will get what they want and finally shut down what it's left. all the big guys will be safe on QTL side starting their (short) patent troll life...
