100% of 3G only devices in Europe are from MTK

QC was arrogant enough not to do this and this now has given MTK a Channel to market and are now selling EU whitelabel devices which are LTEVOLTE.

prediction that QCT was already going to slip was indicated to senior management last year, sorry to see no proactive approach

Qct wants to push new technologies and wants to be first to market but then sales puts a high premium on this which discourages OEM's to look elsewhere or delay new tech launches thereby giving enough time to MTK to also have the same tech available

I do believe that we have enough strength to fight back and if we do ride this bad patch we will be the winners against Intel and MTK

We need a new successful OEM outsid apple and Samsung, maybe one of the private brands or chinese might be our new successful leverage

Missed 64bits at Apple launch date, after Apple developed for 1-2 years

Reset 32 to 64, overheating of 810 because MR out sourced it to oversea teams

Misled Samsung until 810 smoked in the original GS6, continue to mislead 810 customers

Lost 90% rest of asia to MTK, Intel, Marvel

Screwed all customers to please Apple by allocating 90% engineering and 90% technical and product decisions

Screwed partnerships with RF suppliers competing with them, lost to competition, lost more core modem business as a result

Lost money in junk investments like MFlo, Mirasol, Pix, A123

Screwed up lawsuits and probes, licensing negotiations in China, Europe

Bought and screwed up Atheros

By the way, I would answer your question about what market trends did they predict in the last three years but it looking at things from things from the outside it is hard to tell why things are they way they are and what I know from the inside is proprietary.

I did not assert that Qualcomm failed to predict the market with no support. The companies you list are struggling much more in the space that matters to Qualcomm (keeping its processors and graphics in smart devices, and failing that keeping its modems attached to smart devices) or have failed to predict market trends. If they had good blood, then would they not have tapped it internally?

What market trends has the QC management predicted in the last 3 years or so? The upper management has been living in reflected glories of successes past for the past few years. Get technical new folks from Nokia, NVidia and maybe some of the second to the CEO folks from Intel.

What market trends did QCT fail to predict? Where would you get the "new blood" from?

How about failure to predict the market trends properly and plan accordingly? IMO we could have done better on this with the right folks in the uppermanagent. There are way and way toooo many of folks that have been here for toooo long and are complacent and not in touch with the industry and unable to adjust and predict the industry trends properly. And hence unable to plan properly for future. I keep hearing... "market did not obey our predictions"... Is it really that or is it " we old folks accustomed to our old ways and complacent with Qualcomm way did not predict the market properly".... Why is it that this company has sooo much of old blood? Specially in upper management? And why are folks here sooo complacent... ? Seems like the goal for management here is how to get to the next level and not how to ensure the company meets the right goal.... If management was focusssing on the latter, former would take care of itself. But alas, management is more interested in promoting themselves rather than looking after the interest of the company. And that is exactly why we are in this state today...lets not blame this on "market shift"... Plain and simple ...old complacent folks are running the show and they needs to be replaced with folks more experience with multiple company environments and industry experience.... Please note my use of word " old" is not related to age... But more of related to the longevity with the same company...... IMO we should start hiring folks (replacing the ones here for way too long), that can provide a fresh look at our future and plan accordingly.
