One more tip ....take advantage of any employee discount schemes (MsOffice, Norton, etc..) asap...
It is not a pleasant experience, even when you are prepared for it.. Make sure personal data is backed up and that you only have a personal email address associated with any bank, utility, thrift plan, medical, benefit account, etc.. Your bhi account is literally switched off when/if you "meet" with HR. Remember that the current lay-offs haven't even begun to reflect the impact of the 'merge'.
Regional & district layoffs last week in midland/odessa. With the folks they let go, looks like pumping services may be obsolete in the near future.
