Supposedly the attorneys were given an option of volunteering for layoffs. Wonder how many other teams were allowed this option. Legal is always treated better than engineering. Stupid since without engineering the company ceases to exist.
Maybe not. QCOM is still hiring lawyers. By the way, you don't have to actually BE an attorney to draft patents--but it helps, because most clients want the drafter to file them, as well. Screwing THAT up will cost you an expesive hit to your malpractice insurance!
Anybody who decides to go into law is an idiot.
austin texas from san diego
Stay in SD to study law.

I'm going to move to Portland, get a nose piercing, and start smoking a lot of weed.
Got a girlfriend, like the wife's housekeeping skills, no fricken way will I ever move to the bay area.
Get a new girlfriend/wife and live the life that you really want to live! What's left of it... Why Wait!
My parents and siblings are all here, as are my wife's parents and siblings. I'd never move to the bay area, but Seattle/Austin would be workable for me. Except my wife would say "have a nice life" and stay here.
Prefer to stay here; but if my wife gets a job in Silicon Valley, I'm out of here!
