Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Southern Pacific leadership makes me sick

Sp leadership is one messed up group. Rp is an ego-maniac busy openly flirting and screwing the marketing Ec. Vp of purchasing/marketing is the rudest, most unprofessional person I know who retaliates and bullies against team members and demands the word supplier be used when she herself keeps saying vendor. Vp has a puppet Ec who follows her every move and can't take his own stance and speak up. Tms Ec singlehandedly approved a $4000 team member emergency check for her favorite coordinator because she broke up with her boyfriend and wanted the same home and equipment set up as the home she shared with her boyfriend. This Tms EC also made sure her daughter got a pbs position even though she's only had experience as a pbp by instructing her coordinators to remove one of the higher paid, seasoned, clean filed, well respected and liked pbs. Ec of construction has horrible follow through and makes really poor decisions. Ec of operations is hot or cold. If he likes you you're okay, if he doesn't like you you're screwed. That seems to be the consistent theme and it shows in many of the Stls who are running the stores. Stls who are liked are promoted and or are placed in advantageous positions. In order to be liked, you need to be aggressive, number driven and a puppet. It's one thing the company has made the sad decision to lay off and completely disregard team member happiness and excellence, but it's another to have to work for a leadership team that only thinks of themselves and makes decisions that really only benefit themselves and their loved ones. Talk about favoritism and fairness. Anyone else experiencing this? Please share.

How about the TMS coordinator whose son was an Specialty ATL and secretly dating/banging his TM. I'm certain they handled that as they would any other TM, right? wrong.

TMS in SOPAC is a joke. TMS Coordinator who flips her hair and sits crossed legged like a teenager during meetings. TMS Executive who faked crying during the phone call in which all PBS/PBP were laid off. And what happened to the wonderful TMS Coordinator who was silently demoted to Associate Coordinator and then left to run the Glendale Medical Center? And why is the Operations Executive Coordinator permitted to have his wife, sister in law ,another sister in law and now his son work at stores he is responsible for?

OMG: We all thought nothing could touch SO region for the depths of negativity and dysfunctional, assholish behavior by its leadership...wait, no...MANAGEMENT. Wait, no.... MIS-MANAGEMENT. I refuse to call them leaders. I'm so grateful for this forum because now we're finding out that the attitudes are the same everywhere: A bunch of spoiled brats who were in the right place at the right time, who think that they're Zeus' gift to retail management all flying by the seat of their pants, touring the stores spouting their nonsense about core values, criticizing how the apples are stacked, but never actually engaging or listening to anyone. There's all this nepotism, bad planning, passing blame down, missed deadlines, mistakes, shoddy construction, circling the wagons, shooting the messenger whenever anyone even gently, tactfully points out an obvious error. We had to walk on eggshells while you bungled things every hour of every day. You f&^%heads shouldn't be managing a mini-mart, let alone an entire region of a major retailer. I hope that 100 people at your country club or your next convention come up and ask you what they hell is wrong with your company and that your shares go to zero.

It's the same in every region. Worthless leadership, making terrible decisions.

If that TM emergency fund rumor is true, then that is truly awful. Did not know about the nepotism from the TMS EC either, all the rest is old news for those of us that have been around a few years.

I don't know anything about any of the other regions so I have nothing to compare this leadership to, but since I started working for WF 5 years ago I have never understood for the LIFE of me how the company maintained ANY of it's success with this quality of leadership. Anyone from STL up is a completely unapproachable asshole. Nothing but negative energy.

And guess what? It trickles down. Consciously or unconsciously, they fill the positions directly beneath them with people who are just as embarrassing.

I enjoy working for leaders who inspire, either in work-ethic or personality. None of this regions leadership possess either.

And excuse me, how has Patrick Bradley's terrible music NOT GOTTEN more of a spotlight shown on it? I couldn't even BELIEVE my store was forced to sell that crap. Big surprise, we ended up spoiling out the entire heap of CDs. I doubt human could've produced a PARODY of something so pretentious and poorly designed if they were given unlimited time and funds to do so. Can you hear me?

Reminds me of Ken Mayer - the guy is as cold as f***. The additional of these two guys (Ken and David) started the tooth decay of this company. Store tours are meaningless, never engage team members or if so its like forced and painful to talk to them.

The Sopac RP is a pompous ass. He rarely if ever acknowledges the presence of TMs, uses his position to further his "music career" (good luck), and drains the morale of everyone he comes in contact with -- a sad leftover from the days when anyone with a pulse could get a regional leadership position.
