I know it doesn't change the layoffs but get rid of that awful allegro stuff and bring in more local and other good coffees and stop taking up all the room with allegro. Sell this company and be done with it. It sucks

We actually had the allegro rep come in and train the coffee bar. I tried the reps coffee. It was as foul as anyone else's at the coffee bar. It's because our region's brew s---s. Don't blame the care, enthusiasm, cleaning or freaking labels. It's water and grounds.
Look at the TM making the coffee and the amount of effort, enthusiasm or care they are putting into it. How is their morale? Do you think they clean equipment? Do you clean your team's equipment? Has the coffee been sitting there for 30 minutes, 5 hours? Is their milk even being temped, logged?
Anyone can make a terrible tasting cup of Intelligentsia/Blue Bottle/ Counter Culture/ Gimme! if they don't take any sort of care in what they're doing or if they were never trained on what to do. Undefined palates, or those without a mind of their own will always pick the trendy brand name as long as it's not allegro. It's pretty entertaining when you hear that TMs put whatever brew tag they want on the pots because they know it sells better. Literally heard, "The TMS and customers like the red Intelligentsia tag, so we put that on whichever pot is ready." It's okay to have a mind of your own.
I wondered if there was something on the internet about this coffee! It's really terrible. Every time I've been stupid enough to buy it I end up throwing it away after a few sips. Even tons of cream/ milk and sugar can't save it! For shame. Wfm is becoming increasingly difficult to work for. When I started it felt like they really cared about the community and team member happiness. It's obvious now it's just about money. That's well and good, it's a business after all. Just stop pretending that team members matter, because it's painfully obvious that is no longer the case.
Allegro coffee is Awful you could not give it to me for free! Also getting rid of good seasoned employees that knew what they were doing to help with customers was part of what our niche was now it's just about the dime for our corporate overlords
It is now 10 months later and Allegro, which is the only coffee you can get at the coffee bar at Whole Foods STILL S---S. It is the WORST coffee ever - and I wouldn't drink it for free. Whole Foods Employees get it for $1 and most of them spend $3 on coffee to bring to work because no one like Allegro!!!
Yes, duh, we know the company owns Allegro. That's the problem! Allegro gets a pass to provide a lousy product at a high price, whereas all the great local coffee roasters actually have to EARN their way by producing superior products at fair prices. If we were to hold a series of taste tests to determine who gets shelf space and what gets brewed at the coffee bars, Allegro would be lucky to have one shelf.
No one ever said that we didn't know allegro is owned by whole foods. We know whole foods own allegro and it still doesn't change the fact that it sucks and we should shake off that part of the company
Whole foods owns allegro... It's amazing how much stuff people don't know about their own company.
It's crappy AND overpriced. It always tastes burnt and bitter except for the lighter blends which taste like what you get when you run water through the grinds twice by mistake. Plus, rather than deliver a fresh cup to the customers, the coffee bar is forced to serve it in vacuum bottles so it comes out nice and cold, when any has been made recently which is dubious. But my main mental association with Allegro is regional leadership walking around like pompous royalty while the overworked coffee bar TMs are trying their best to take care of a line of impatient customers who want custom drinks. I constantly see customers give up once they see the lines at the gelato/coffee bar. And I've read more than one customer comment stating "you need to properly staff your coffee bar." We couldn't because the RP and RVPs have vacation homes that need repairs. And with the stock's implosion they need their dividends more than ever. Lack of proper staffing at the service counters: One of many reasons why business is suffering.
yeah, Allegro really suck. I don't buy coffee from specialty.
Even the regional guys know that Allegro is terrible
Wonka wonka, you probably just over heard the adults making fun of Allegro. You can't tell good coffee from ketchup.
agreed that is some horrible coffee I won't drink that crap for free!
