All I know is what I know. I work for Baker Hughes Drill Bits and all I can say is that where i am the product is doing very well and in high demand. Whatever that means. I guess it won't mean much in a month or two when this deal falls through.

All management and higher positions havebeen hand picked and placed...none of these employees have even had to apply for these roles.

Agree with you 183818, even though my blood runs blue and blue! Sad state right now! You're 'shells' description is right on to. A lot of good folks going down before, now and soon - so glad I'm outta the situation now.

The truth will be obvious, post-merger. With two big fishes swimming in a smaller "pool",... shouldn't take long to figure out which ends up the Big Fish. But,... ask yourself which company YOU would rather do business with,... one that's been pieced together with the remnants of two battered and demoralized "shells" of their previous selves, or the one that's shown it's staying power? I know which one I'd pick, but time will tell.
