I am forever thankful of the qualcomm way ... I still listen to the earnings podcast when the layoff was announced. The following all hands meeting is a classic, how can I get the DVD to what it with the whole family? I want the kids to learn about how to get rid of workers the proper way.
If you have any seniority at Q, you don't get laid off (because that would require the fake 2 weeks of pay for every year of seniority parachute). If you have e.g. 6 years, 8 years, etc., you get put into "Endless PiP" where every quarter they will make up something and lay off a couple of hundred very senior people.
If you think Q is better than other companies, you are an idiot, plain and simple.
$50,000 in severance AND a 2-month notice. What a bunch of a-holes! /s

I partially agree, but Let's not confuse the calwarn law for something Q gifted to employees. It IS odd to have these folks coming in to work, I can only guess management believes they will pull a rabbit out of a hat for those that didn't volunteer for the layoff.
The same is true for shareholders. They should just sell, and not complain as "activists". Nobody should demand change. Just drink the koolaid!
