Interesting article. Forget about the deal closing before new year.
All of the international regulators are waiting on the DOJ decision. Once that is done the int's will rubber stamp it through.
If the deal is delayed, and BHI revenues disappoint in Q4 I reckon HAL could pull out. Any rumor of this would crash BHI stock which they could then pick up at a significant discount.
Bloomberg said 25% chance of going through, that was last week.
75% the deal gets done. 100% it takes longer & ends up in court.
Any guesses as to how the merger, as a whole (or, hole), is progressing with respect to U.S. regulators? Last I heard, they had given the go ahead to Schlumberger/Cameron, but not Hal/BHI. At the least, it appears that there's some trepidation, on both sides of the Atlantic. Anyone giving odds?
