Hmmmm....why promotions when they're trying to cut costs???? Should have delayed!

"Cost Cutting" - what a joke. This layoff had nothing to do with cost cutting. If that was the case, why are there so many directors still employed at QC? In the group I was just let go from there are now 2 directors for 4 people (2 reports each). And this week there were promotions within the ESG group. After seeing how many older people, and long-time employees on 11/20 waiting in line to check out, it became very obvious what this layoff was all about.
Original poster here...I wish I could "Like" all the replies! This "Strategic Realignment Plan" has been totally demoralizing and cruel!!!! I'm afraid we will never see the awesome culture from when we first started. SIGH!
Q continues with its disfuctional ways of managing people. I thought, oh well after 11/20, things will get towards normal, and once again we can start getting back to the culture that was their when I joined. But looks like it this whole layoff was just a joke.. It is still top heavy.
Morale is just going to keep going down ..
New business cards are less than $15/1000 when you have them printed in bulk. Much cheaper than giving people raises/bonuses.
One of the worst promotions of all time at the Q. A himbo named Novak. SVP? Seriously? Might as well let the cleaning crew run QCT.
A slap in the face.
Steerage got pushed overboard (layoffs). First class is leaving on lifeboats (attrition). Gotta promote some cooks to exec chef to ensure the qct hull spinoff happens, without freezing to death.
